Armed Robbers kill one in Tamale Filling station attack

Armed robbers have killed one person in an attack on a filling station in Tamale, Sunday dawn.

The deceased 50, has been identified as one Yahaya Naporo, a security man of the Shell Filling Station at Kakpagyili, a suburb of Tamale.

News man understands the robbers also made away with an undisclosed amount of money.

The Tamale metropolis has in recent days seen quite a number of reported armed robbery cases.

These incidents have been reported from various parts of the metropolis almost on daily basis.

Last week, another filling station was attacked by Armed Robbers in the metropolis, leaving one dead.

Speaking to Sulaiman the news man, brother of the deceased, Tahidu Naporo ruled out gun shot or knife as the possible means of killing his brother.

He claimed his brother may have died due to a head injury he sustained during the attack because his head was smashed when he was found, claims hospital authorities are yet to confirm.

According to the Tahidu Naporo, the hands, legs and mouth of his brother were tied when his lifeless body was found.

The deceased left behind a widow and six children.

The body of the deceased has been deposited at the Tamale Teaching Hospital morgue.

The house of the deceased and his work place (filling station) is several kilometers apart, a situation that his junior brother lamented about.

He believes that his brother died of head injury since the deceased’s head was smashed.

The Police were not immediately available to give further details of the attack.
