John Mahama doesn’t understand common English — NAPO fumes
Minister for Education and Member of Parliament (MP) for Manyia South Constituency, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh has fumed at the EX-President, John Dramani Mahama over his malicious intentions about the free Senior High School policy.
Mr. Mahama on his usual unity walk for members of the National Democratic (NDC) at Tarkwa, called for a stakeholder’s conference to address challenges associated with the implementation of the free SHS policy.
According to him, the current implementation if not properly handled could derail the entire purpose of the free SHS programme.
The former President accused the government of pushing all available resources into funding the free SHS programme to the extent that government now has no funds but doing what he described as “voluntary contribution (lalasulala)”, which according to him, will not be successful.
But Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh speaking on Peace FM on Monday said, Mr. Mahama seems to read a lot but unfortunately he does not understand the things that he reads because Government has never taken any fund from anybody since the implementation of the free SHS policy.
“Have you heard someone says he’s paying money for the implementation of free SHS? If Mahama talks like this, he’s forcing us to comfortably tell him what’s on our mind.
When he reads, he doesn’t understand, if he does, he wouldn’t say what he said. He fumed.
Dr. Prempeh therefore chided the former president for not seeing the good in helping underprivileged families in the country.
He said poor people also deserve a chance at free quality education and the New Patriotic Party under the leadership of President Akufo-Addo will ensure that education continue to made available to all.
