A remand prisoner who was due to appear before the court this week has disappeared from the Kumasi Central prisons, TheNewsGh.Com has confirmed.

Abdul-Razak in his mid-30s believed to be linked to various crimes including his association with rebels in neighboring countries had been remanded on Friday, November 2, 2018 to reappear at a later date while his docket was forwarded to the Attorney General’s Department for advice, our source gathered

But prison officers according to inside sources woke up Saturday morning November 3, 2018 to his shocking disappearance with no signs of any jailbreak.

“He did not break jail because it is not possible for anyone to have escaped considering the security arrangements in the male yard. He disappeared and that is the major mystery to all of us”, a senior officer who pleaded strict anonymity disclosed to TheNewsGh.Com

Sources indicate that Abdul-Razak who is a known armed robber is believed to have some voodoo powers in a special ring which he uses to outwit the security agencies each time he is involved in a crime and the police, in particular, are on his heels.

Authorities of the Ghana Prison Service as well as the Ashanti Regional Police Command are tight-lipped over the development with both saying they cannot be blamed for his mysterious escape.

As at Wednesday, November 7, 2018 there was still no trace of the suspect with colleague inmates giving varying accounts as to how he disappeared just after a night in prison custody.

Meanwhile, surveillance has been stepped up in various parts of the country for the suspected robber who sources say may be hiding in neighboring Togo or Benin
