From the African Mermaid to Ghana Jollof, Ghanaian musician Deborah Vanessa, is making waves in the music industry with her unique, hilarious style.
Born Deborah Owusu-Bonsu aka Sister Derby, the stunning Ghanaian-Romanian singer started out as a model in TV commercials before releasing her first single, “Uncle Obama”.
Truly, “Uncle Obama” lacks all the necessary music ingredients but it managed to make waves as a result of its hilarious undernote. In the process, Sister Derby self-professed herself as a musician and started releasing songs paying less attention to the quality through the help of his brother, Wanlov de Kubolor.
But because her songs lack true music ingredients, Sister Derby’s music career failed to grow as expected and that prevented her from releasing song(s) at regular intervals. But the story is now different thanks to her relationship breakup with rapper Medikal.
Recall that Sister Derby recently released Kakalila love song to diss Medikal for dumping her for Fella Makafui. In the song, Sister Derby shockingly revealed that her ex-lover, Medikal stored Makafui’s name as “carpenter” on his phone for reasons best known to him.
Like earlier said, the breakup has become a blessing in disguise for Sister Derby and her struggling music career has gain weight within a blink. The trash song she released has become the talk of Ghana on social media with the tag #KakalikaLove, #KakalikaChallenge with numerous viral videos.
So, this presupposes that Sister Derby is rather the top beneficiary of the whole break-up or better still broken heart drama. With this, Sister Derby can have some mental stability despite the painful breakup as her music career has been resurrected from death.
