The Ambassador of Mexico to Ghana, H. E. Maria De Los Angeles Aguirre has revealed that she strongly believes in President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s vision of ‘Ghana Beyond Aid’ and will do everything within her capacity to support it,  TheNewsGH.com reports.

The President upon assumption of office in January 2017 announced this vision and observed that its realization “requires a deliberate, qualitative change in all aspects of our lives; especially, in the structure of our economy, the nature of our infrastructure, the education of our young people and acquisition of skills, and, above all, in our attitudes and holding firm to the values that define us.”

According to President Akufo-Addo, “even if there were no aid fatigue, and with the best will in the world and the most charitable governments in place in the so-called donor countries, there will never be enough aid to develop Ghana to the level we want. Aid was never meant to be what would bring us to the status of a developed nation.”

H. E. Maria De Los Angeles Aguirre who is amazed at the spate of growth under President Akufo-Addo, said she is poised to turn Ghana and Mexico into strategic partners in the economic field and as a result, will work closely with Ghana to help achieve the President’s vision.

“Ghana is growing fast and growing very positive and getting into a new shape like the President Nana Akufo-Addo said “Ghana beyond aide and I strongly believe in this programme of the government of Ghana…I think that Mexico has a lot of opportunities to come and invest in Ghana”, she observed while speaking with Rasheeda Adams on “Talk with Rasheeda”
