Today is a Black Friday in Ghana as a lot of people have perished through road accidents.
One happened on the Tamale-Techiman Highway that claimed about 70 lives and another happened in the Central Region claiming about 8 lives.
Well, a young man identified as Justice Ato Ankrah has taken to his Facebook account to share testimony of how God saved him from the second accident which occurred at Akumfi-Dunkwa in Central Region.
He revealed that his car was next to the very bus which had the accident and that if not for a little delay, he would have boarded the car that was involved in the unfortunate incident.
“My car was next to this bus I saw it like a movie I don’t want to post the videos but what I can say is lord I thank you 🙏 for the delay of ma car today 10:50am today 😭”
Below are some photos he shared from the accident scene:
It is gathered that the incident occurred close to Mankessin on the main Cape Coast- Accra highway at about midday involving a Yuntong bus with registration GN 4368-14from Takoradi heading towards Accra and a Metro Mass Transit (MMT) bus AS 2951-10 from Accra heading towards Mankessin.
According to eyewitnesses account, there was a head-on collision between the two vehicles resulting in the fatalities with 8 recorded deaths and 13 injuries.
The injured have been rushed to Gomoa Apam Government Hospital and Mankessim Roman Catholic Hospital where they are on admission receiving treatment.
It is speculated that the Yuntong bus was over speeding and lost its control running into the lane of the oncoming Metro Mass Transit Bus.
The Mankessim Divisional Police Commander ACP Owoahene Acheampong disclosed to TheNewsGH.com that his outfit is unable to give the exact number of fatalities recorded in the latest accident but promised to furnish the media with the number after investigations.
