National Population Council in conjunction with the Bosomtwe District Assembly and the Ghana Aids Commission have commemorate the Ashanti Regional 2019 World population Day at Jachie in the Bosomtwe District.
The Celebration which was themed Reproductive Health and Gender Equality brought people from all walks of life to Grace the occasion.
Ms. Mercy Adomaa Besseah the Regional Population Director expressed that upholding sexual and reproductive health is key to ensuring that all people can be equal and free to make decisions in all spheres of life.
“Women are key agents of change and when women and men are equal, economies grow faster, less people remain in poverty and the overall well being of people increases” She added.
Ghana Aids Commission Provided free health screening for the people of Jachie and it’s environs at the grounds.
The beneficiaries were offered free medication and educated on the importance of living healthy lifestyles.
Services rendered included HIV and AIDS test, general health checks, eyes tests, prescriptions, counselling and pharmaceutical services.
In all over 120 people benefitted from the health screening.
