A supposed army officer is reported to have subjected some youth of Kasseh, a suburb of Ada-Foah in the Ada East District in the Greater Accra Region to severe brutality for taking the laws into their own hands.
Some of the residents are reported to have sustained several scores of injuries, and others battling with their lives after the soldier jumped on at them, for blocking the Tema-Aflao highway last Friday evening.
TheNewsGh.Com has it that, a section of the stretch of the highway has recorded several accidents, leading to the death of Kasseh residents and travelers.
The soonest incident was when last Friday an accident occurred and a pupil was killed, thereby making the youth protest. This numerous accident recorded in the area is attributed to reckless driving and overspeeding.
TheNewsGh.Com also gathered that aggrieved youth blocked the highway amidst burning of lorry tyres and chanting of war songs during the protest which created heavy block.
Unfortunately to them, some soldiers were caught up in the incident travelling in a convoy from Accra to Volta Region and decided to remove the blocks.
However, the action of the soldiers did not scare the youth and they regrouped to attack the soldiers, which resulted in their severe beating.
This was confirmed by the Chief Superintendent George A. Kumah, Commander of the Ada Divisional Police Headquarters. He stated, some personnel of the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) came to put out the fire.
