Jose Mourinho has said how “excited” he is to step in as Tottenham manager after replacing Mauricio Pochettino.
Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy stunned world football late last night by announcing they had decided to part ways with Pochettino after a slow start to the campaign.
But the north London outfit have wasted no time in finding their replacement by snapping up Mourinho.
“I am excited to be joining a club with such a great heritage and such passionate supporters,” he said.
But he had managed to pick up just three wins from their opening 12 league games this campaign, ultimately leading to his dismissal.
Levy admitted it was a difficult decision to axe the Argentine coach.
“We were extremely reluctant to make this change and it is not a decision the Board has taken lightly, nor in haste.
“Regrettably domestic results at the end of last season and beginning of this season have been extremely disappointing.
