Households in the Kwabre East constituency would breathe a sigh of relief as they get bags of rice and cooking oil to support themselves as the partial lockdown in the community enters it third week.
The items includes; 1000 bags of rice, 1000 cooking oil, alcohol-based hand sanitizers among others.
The aim of this humane exercise is to reach the aged, underprivileged and the vulnerable within the constituency to help release off the burden of discomfort during this trying moment.
“The donation is to send a clear message to Ghanaians about the need for us to unite; stay positive; do not panic; remain strong, and be each other’s keeper in these trying times, which will definitely pass soon,” she added.
Hon. Oteng Mensah used the opportunity to sensitize and educate the people to adhere to the safety protocols in preventing the spread of the diseases and further urge them on the need to stay home to keep their families and loved ones safe.
DONATION OF PPE TO HEALTH DIRECTORATE
Earlier in the day, Hon. Francy who doubles as the Board Chair for National Youth Authority presented handsanitizers, gloves, veronica buckets, nose masks, boots, glasses among otbers to officials at the Kwabre East Health Directorate.
Speaking to the media on that move, Hon. Francisca said as part of fighting against the covid-19 pandemic, she donated those items knowing that health workers happen to be the frontline health workers of the pandemic, therefore there is the need to help them protect themselves.
She said there are other PPEs to be distributed to some other people in the community very soon.
The Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Nana Osei Asibey Bonsu thanked the MP for that massive support.
He then promised to make sure the equipments are evenly distributed.
On his turn, the Municipal Health Director, Dr. Samuel Somuah also thanked the MP and said it will really help them in fighting against the pandemic.
