Member of Parliament(MP) for North Tongu, Okudzeto Ablakwa questioning why Carlos Ahenkorah has not been prosecuted but Pastors and other individuals who breached COVID-19 protocols are still in prison custody.
During the partial lockdown of Accra, Greater Kumasi and Tema, the Ghana Police Service arrested some number of people who according to the Police flouted the orders of the President. Such individuals were either made to pay fines or were imprisoned for their offence.
However, the former Deputy Trades Minister, Carlos Ahenkorah flouted the various protocols put in place to fight COVID-19 by leaving his isolation centre in his home to tour various registration centres in the Tema West Municipality.
The former Minister because of this has lost his position as Deputy Minister and there are calls for him to be withdrawn as a Parliamentary Candidate of the New Patriotic Party in Tema West.
In a post on Facebook commenting on why the Tema West Member of Parliament is still walking as a free man, Okudzeto quizzed why some Pastors and other individuals are still in prison custody and the MP who knew he was positive for COVID-19 and still went ahead to visit Registration centres is walking a free man.
He said “Should the Pastors and other COVID-19 offenders remain in jail?”
