The Second-hand Fridge Importers Association’s Ashanti Regional branch has warned the Environmental Protection Agency (E.P.A), Energy Commission and the government to as matter of urgency reconsider the decision on the ban on the importation of second-hand fridges.
Speaking to Agyenkwa News reporter Osofo Kwame Afrifah, some of the Importers complain of the huge decline in their business which has brought financial constraints to them.
According to them they have not been able to import goods for the past ten(10) years and if those agencies do not reconsider their decisions, we will go to their offices in Accra and set those offices ablaze and if any security personnel comes to their aid, we will fight him or her..
Meanwhile, the Ashanti Regional Secretary for the Association, Mr. Boadi Henry also said live has been unbearable for them because they don’t get goods and sell for even house keeps and others.
He said some of their workers have now turned to be “wee” smokers, and even some of the retailers have took to their heels while some have been hit by various degrees of sicknesses because of loans they took from banks.
