Nii Tetteh Otu II, the Paramount Chief of Kpone, reportedly walked out on President Akufo-Addo during a sod-cutting ceremony for the construction of a district hospital in the area.
According to reports, the chief lost it when he saw an artist’s impression of the building which up until that point, he thought was a one-storey building.
In a video which has been circulating, the Chief is seen walking out of the Durbar grounds after he expressed distaste at how the project had turned out.
Even his council of elders pleaded with him but the pleas all fell on deaf ears, as no one could get him back to the Durbar grounds.
Emmanuel Nortey, a resident who was present at the event, said that the chief was bitter about politicians who were full of promises and lies, who always ended up deceiving them over such projects.
“The chief walked out on President Akufo-Addo after he noticed the project wasn’t the one-story building he was expecting,” Nortey said.
Nortey added that the chief even rejected a proposal for a closed-door meeting to resolve the issue.
