Fact Check: Islamic Girls SHS Matron Did Not Die From Food Poisoning

 

A publication on TheNewsGh.Com suggested that former Matron for Wa-based Islamic Girls SHS passed on due to alleged food poisoning from unknown sources.

The said publication, culled from TheNewsGh.Com, suggested that the late Paulina Samba, struggled to breath in the dying minutes of her life with medical experts confirming she was poisoned.

“A matron with Jamiat Islamic Girls SHS in Wa, Upper West Region Paulina Samba has passed on after a severe ailment.

Before her death, she admitted the condition began at her workplace.

According to close relatives, the Matron’s Stomach started expanding and within a week time she couldn’t breathe, medical experts who came to observe her condition stated it was as a result of food poisoning, she was pronounced dead along the week”, part of the publication on the late Matron reads.

FACTS ON THE LATE MADAM PAULINA SAMBA

Madam Paulina Samba was the Assistant matron at Wa Senior High Technical School in the upper west region before she was transferred to Islamic Girls SHS.

She was transferred to Islamic Girls SHS in 2018.

She did not bring her medial report clearing her on arrival to Islamic Girls SHS where she met other matrons at the school.

Grapevine sources revealed that the late Madam Paulina Samba had tested positive for Hepatitis in 2019 and this could play a key role in her bloated stomach

She was 49 years old at the time of her demise.

She did not show any known physical ailment during her time in the school.

Auditors came to check the medical status of the kitchen staff of Islamic Girls SHS and demanded screening of all workers.

Medical results from the screening process recommended that some staff be dropped from the kitchen.

The late Madam Paulina Samba was bed ridden for over two months before her demise.

Until her sudden demise, she had strong and professional working relationship with her colleague workers at the kitchen and the school at large.

No official medical report was issued by any medical practitioner suggesting the late Madam Paulina Samba was poisoned contrary to the publication on TheNewsGh.Com.

Efforts to reach management of Islamic Girls SHS for their official response proved futile as at the time of publishing this article.
