THE PRU EAST DISTRICT NCCE HELD AN INTER PARTY DIALOGUE MEETING ON THE TOPIC “EMPOWERING GHANAIANS TO STAND FOR NATIONAL COHESION AND INCLUSIVE PARTICIPATION IN GOVERNANCE ” ON THURSDAY AT YEJI.
The responsibilities of NCCE is to teach the Ghanaian citizens about the country, it’s governance, duties of a citizen and some notable issues.
The NCCE of Pru East District on Thursday, 4th. November, 2021 held an Inter-Party Dialogue Meeting to educate Ghanaians about political aggressions and how to stand for peace in the country.
This program call on political parties as the major stakeholders in governance, traditional leaders, religious leaders, security service, and some personalities in participation.
Addressing the meeting, the district director of NCCE, Mr. Emmanuel Nimo said it is important to draw the attention of citizens to know some issues happening in the country and neighboring countries as a result of politics that can affect peace and development.
He said, some terror groups emerging from some neighbor countries attacks the peace and development of citizens so Ghanaians should be vigilant in our activities not to invite such groups without our knowledge.
After the district director’s address, the Bono East Regional Director of NCCE, Mr. Kwaku Yeboah digest the law enforcing vigilantism(a group of political thugs), the punishment applicable to vigilantism, when one uses an offensive weapon against the fellow, years of imprisonment and other sanctions.
The district commander of police, Eric Awiadem explain the Public Order Act 491 that when a group of people want to hold a demonstration, political rally, festivals and other event has to notify police 5 days before the program so that police will assist for peaceful event.
The district crime officer address the participants, he said terrorist and vigilantes are a group of people who attacks and humiliating fellow groups in attempt to achieve their interest. Some of the causes maybe inequalities in the country, corruption and others bring about terrorism or vigilantism activities.
In conclusion, the Pru East NCCE directorate pledge to continue to educate Ghanaians and also create awareness on matters concern the country.
