Mr Onyina Akwasi Gyamfi Acheampong has donated items worth GH¢5590.00 to Kwabre East Municipal Assembly in the Ashanti Region of Ghana. The items were in support of this year’s 37th National Farmers’ Day celebrations which is themed “PLANTING FOR FOOD AND JOBS – CONSOLIDATING FOOD SYSTEMS IN GHANA.”
In a standing presentation, Mr Onyina presented the items at the forecourt of the Assembly and speaking on what motivated him, He said he is a native of Kwabre East and social responsibility to the Municipality.
Again, Mr Onyina Akwasi Gyamfi Acheampong emphasised that, the donation was to make agriculture attractive and motivate the youth and the people of Kwabre East to venture into farming because agriculture is the backbone of the economy of the country.
Hon Opoku Agyemang Bonsu the Municipal Chief Executive for Kwabre East received the items on behalf of the Municipal Agric Director lauded Mr. Onyina Akwasi Gyamfi Acheampong for his donation.
Again He said, Mr Onyina Akwasi Gyamfi Acheampong resolve to boost the agriculture sector is highly appreciated and worthy of emulation in the Municipality. He called on others to support agriculture in the Municipality which he termed as the solution to the economic woes of the country.
The items donated by Mr. Onyina Akwasi Gyamfi Acheampong were; 1 Double Decker Fridge, 20 Wellington Boots (2 pairs), 10 boxes of penox weedicide, 10 knapsack sprayer and 1 pocket of machete which contains 50 pieces.
This year’s celebration is slated for 3rd of December 2021 at Ahwiaa Craft Center as the National one is celebrated at Cape Coast.
Among dignitaries who were in the standing presentation included, Mr Bediako Brempong Asare (Municipal coordinating Director), Mr Mohammed Alhassan (Municipal Human Resources Manager), Ronnies Serwaa Boamah (Municipal Information Officer), Municipal Procurement Officer, Municipal client unit among others.
